Beginner Private Lessons
Every new student begins with four private lessons with Coach Bosco — covering footwork, bladework, stance, and fencing fundamentals. Personalized, expert attention from day one before joining group classes. No prior fencing experience required.
For fencers pursuing national rankings, college fencing scholarships, or USA Fencing tournament results. Salle Bosco has produced nationally ranked fencers, college scholarship athletes, and a three-time U.S. Olympic team member — Steve Mormando. Advanced tactical training in foil, epee, and saber.
Youth fencing classes for students ages 7 and up near Madison and Huntsville, Alabama. Our youth program develops coordination, discipline, and Olympic fencing fundamentals in a structured, safe environment. Students start with foil and progress at their own pace.
Adult fencing lessons for complete beginners through experienced competitive fencers. Private one-on-one coaching with Coach Bosco available Saturdays and by arrangement. Many of our adult students compete in local and national USA Fencing tournaments. It is never too late to start.

Salle D'Armes Bosco welcomes students as young as 7 years old in our Youth Fencing Program near Madison and Huntsville, Alabama. Youth fencing classes focus on coordination, discipline, and foundational Olympic fencing skills. Many of our students have gone on to national rankings and college fencing scholarships.
Nothing special is needed. Salle D'Armes Bosco provides all required fencing equipment — mask, glove, jacket, and weapon — for new students at no extra charge. Simply wear comfortable athletic clothing and closed-toe shoes. Once you decide to continue, Coach Bosco will advise you on purchasing your own gear.
All three are Olympic fencing weapons taught at Salle Bosco. Foil is the beginner weapon — it teaches right-of-way rules and precise targeting of the torso. Epee allows touches to the entire body with no right-of-way rules, rewarding patience and precision. Saber targets the upper body and is the fastest weapon, favoring aggressive fencers. Beginners always start with foil; Coach Bosco introduces epee and saber to intermediate and advanced students.
Yes. Private one-on-one coaching sessions with Coach Bosco are available on Saturday mornings (10 AM – 1 PM) and by arrangement on class days.
